Founded in 2013 by Brandon Chez, coinmarketcap has grown into one of the most popular source of information about price movement of cryptocurrencies. The website has listing of over 2000 cryptocurrency has most of the data is up to date. Since they list cryptocurrency info aggregated from various markets and many other sources, it is often a good source to get most updated data.

One need to register and obtain API key to queries against their database.
